HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I know I'm a bit late, ok maybe pretty late. This Halloween was exactly as we wanted and planned it to be. We could have gone to Halloween parties, or trick-or-treated with all of our friends. This year we wanted a very relaxing Halloween day/night. Luckily it was Aaron's day off, so we got to stay home, and relax, plus the weather was beautiful!

We had a very yummy dinner.

Than off trick-or-treating! Nolan is only 17 months young, so we decided the mall will do this year. He loved it, and ran around the department stores like crazy!

My little Mini Giraffe held his candy bag very close.

When we got back, we had lots of sweets, Nolan was in heaven!

Kids really do make holidays more fun! I love seeing a smile on my little man. I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. Have a spooky night!

Hurricane Sandy

I hope everyone is having a great Monday. This seems to be a very crazy month and election time. I have been keeping myself up to date on Hurricane Sandy, all I can say is that all my prayers go out to everyone in the East Coast. I pray that everyone gets out safely and with no harm.

Hurricane Sandy has been predicted to be the biggest storm in the history of the United States in the East Coast area since the early 1800's. The Hurricane is headed towards Atlantic City, and all of the Jersey Area. They have asked everyone to evacuate, although they receive many hurricanes through out the year, and they know how to prepare, the Mayor has asked that everyone leaves because this one will be a really dangerous storm. There is also a full moon which will make the tide even bigger.

They have just now closed all bridges in Manhattan, the Stock Exchange has been closed for two days now. Prices will skyrocket, gas, food, everything! Especially gas prices. New York City and the Island of Manhattan will most likely put the world on hold. It is so scary. They say that the cleanup cost is estimated to be 20 billion dollars. The most expensive disaster cleanup in history, thus far. This Hurricane is really going to take a toll on the USA. The election candicates, both Romney and Obama even put a hold on their campaings because the Storm is so bad!

14k flights have been cancelled, leaving many travellers stranded, and airlines loosing a lot of money.

It is Monday 2.37pm Mountain Time, the storm hasn't even started yet, and it is already very ugly. This is only the beggining, and it will get even uglier. Its so scary, I pray all of our friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances are safe. Please pray for those out there, and for their safety. Have a wonderful rest of the day.

DIY: Sunburst Mirror

Oh wow!! It has been far too long since I have blogged. So much has been going on lately. I am so sorry for neglecting you my followers! I'm back, and ready for lots more fun posts, I promise! My little man got Roseola last weekend, and he was sick for a whole week. Being a mother is tough, it is so worrysome and exhausting, and just plain hard. But he's up running around, and so is mommy. Over the weekend, we had some very special guests. But more on that later. I have finally finished my forever neglected project.

Remember this?

Ok, remember I told you I really wanted a sunburst mirror? Ok, well I decided to go for the most inexpensive idea. I didn't want to invest a lot, since I wasn't really sure if I loved a sunburst touch as much as I thought I would. So I went for skewers! At 0.97$ for 100ct. Not too shabby

Took my old mirror I was once using above my bed, got it at homegoods for $3.50

Coved the center mirror to protect from glue and paint

Hot glue works just great!

Got some hanging hooks from the craft store for $3.99
Glued it on the back of the mirror with EZ-6000 super glue. It works on anything and everything! Craft store $4.99

Gray primer paint for $3.99 hardware store

Spray away! Let dry, and continue to as many coats as you need until satisfied. I did 3 coats

Voila!

Not too bad for my first time, I gotta tell you, it was a little frustrating. Gluing all of these skewers one by one was the most time consuming step. It's all downhill after that. It took me a couple of days to finish it all. With lots of 2 hour breaks haha. I used about 220 skewers, so I bought way too many, but it's ok, now I have extra skewers for a fun shiskabob party for the summer.

What fun projects have you been up to? Please share!

The Bucket List

Happy Wednesday!

I decided to make a bucket list! I'm not dying and I'm not going through hard times. But I decided I'd really like to just make a bucket list. It's fall now, and it's one of those days when you look out the window, see the leave's change colors, the windy blowing and rustling. The mountains full of different colors, and the sun setting earlier. It's a beautiful sight to see. I think that's what inspired me to make a bucket list. I will most likely be adding more to it, but for right now, this is what I would like to share.

  • Travel to 4 different continents: Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia
  • Live in a European Country
  • Help and Inspire a community (well I helped two communities before, I don't know if I've inspired anyone yet)
  • Build a House
  • Invent something
  • To be featured in a Woman's Magazine
  • To ride a Train
  • To ride a Helicopter
  • To Sail a sea
  • To live in a Beach Town
  • To Speak 4 Languages (2 down, 2 more to go)
  • To ride a Horse
  • To Scuba Dive
  • To run a Marathon
  • To hike to a Mountain Peak
  • To Rock Climb
  • To swim with Dolphins
  • To become a Mother (it is the most wonderful thing in this world)
  • To meet an LDS general authority

Well this is only part of it. I know there is a lot more to add, but I know the older I get, the more my list will grow. We'll see what great things are in store for my little family and me.
What's in your bucket list?
