Some Updates in La Casa

While I stopped blogging over the past few months, we managed to update some of the furniture we were dying to update. It wasn't quick or a cheap update.

Keep in mind, when you are looking to update a room, only invest in the big stuff, sofas, beds, tables. Quick updates that can give a room a dramatic change of look is all cosmetic, that's where the styling comes in with throws, pillows, art, lamps, décor etc.

Keep the big ticket items Neutral, for us Gray is our new neutral.

 

Remember our old couch? Hence our first couch ever! We got it at this cool outlet in Texarkana 2010.  T'was lovely, and comfy, but we wanted something more neutral and a little more modern.  

 

 

 

We also wanted a couch with a chaise...took us 1 year to finally find the perfect piece that fit our budget.

We absolutely love this piece! We got it at the furniture store where Aaron used to work (got it with his discount, days before his last day.)

The living room isn't decorated right now, keeping it clean trying to decide how I am going to tackle this baby.

 

 

Also here is our old dining table and chairs.

 So far, we got new chairs. I am cooking up a project on how to re do the table, I love the size and the shape. This is one is a keeper.

 

 

 

I am still working on the dining room, I am currently, or have been looking for art for years now, I am so picky, so picky that I still haven't bought anything for my walls, that's why they're all naked.

 

I love these chairs though, I originally planned on white seat covers ( IKEA) , but decided the gray was more kid friendly, plus it transitions well from the living room unto the dining room. The black chairs ( IKEA) I fell in love with before I chose the chairs with covers, they are so unique! I love the Euro vibe it gives the room. Eclectic? I think yes!

Hello again!!!

I know...I know... I have completely neglected all of my friends! Please forgive, there are so many things that have been going on, it's no excuse to just leave you out of the blue. I was promoted at work, and a crazy little Toddler, some health issues, had a little scare last month. I guess you can say, life got in the way of my blogging. I love to blog, and to share all of my projects, having people stop by to admire my work, truly makes me love and motivates me to keep doing it. I truly appreciate all of the support I receive from everyone that follows. Well, that being said, now that I have come back again, for the third time (embarrassing) I have some projects I would like to share with you.  

Now that spring is the air...literally! I have been itching to compliment my makeup station, the one I shared a while back? with my new Jewelry Station.

 

Lately I have been obsessed with Acrylic organizers, why not?  Obsession Alert! They're fun and chic and see through (what better way to display treasures?) girly, glamarous and timeless! I love them!

I love jewelry, and honestly I used to collect and never wear. Why? Because I never used to see it. Now that it's on display, I know what I have, and I wear what I want.

Christmas Cheer in our Living Room 2013

It's the most wonderful time of the year! I just love to feel all the holiday cheer! And what better way to show your Christmas spirit, than with some jolly décor? I know I haven't been posting for a while, and I am so sorry. Of course I couldn't pass up a chance to share my little Christmas home.

I made this fun and cheerful garland, I really like how simple it looks. DIY instructions, coming up!

You can't go wrong with hot chocolate, especially on this cold to the bone night!

Simple Mantel this year.

Even though it's winter, I love to have fresh flowers around the house, it brings a certain delight to the holidays.

 

 

Don't forget to dress up your windows, I made simple little wreaths out of pine from my backyard.

I know it's last years, but I love it so much, I had to use again this year. What a delicious wreath!

Organization: Medicine Cabinet from Nightmare to Dream

 It's been a while since I've organized my bathroom, and believe me, it needed it bad! Since we moved upstairs I haven't had much time to do much detail organizing. I decided enough is enough, look how horrible my medicine cabinet looked! So not fun to look at, just boring stuff!

 

 

So I cleaned and cleared!

Next it was time to pretty things up A LOT! So of course, TJ Maxx has the prettiest wrapping paper out there for as little as $3 per roll! I love it!!

I love using wrapping paper instead of contact paper, since super pretty contact paper is hard to find, wrapping paper works the same way.

Whimsical Toy Storage Reveal

i'm back!!! So sorry I completely neglected my awesome blogger friends! please forgive. This summer has been the busiest summer of all my life. So many updates that I have to show you. And also much work in progress. I hope you have all been having a great summer, and now that it's coming to a closing, it's oh so fun to see the leaves changing colors, the cool breeze in the morning and at night. sigh... good ol fall! Well, without much more talking, let me show you how I completed Nolan's toy storage solution. Remember what it used to look like?

Terrible right? And remember how we found the coolest sale ever!!

Well now here is the end result!

 

 

 

 

I made sure not to put any legs on the cool divider. Little ones tend to horde things down and under. To avoid bending over cleaning over and over again, problem solved. No legs. This way it's also easy to reach books and whatnot.

 

 

 

Check this awesome file divider! I have been dying for one of these for about a year now, all the ones I found were online $40 or more plus shipping. Fortunately Target never lets me down. I grabbed the last of these, perfect for back to school, only $10 bucks!! Yeehaa!!

 

 

Shoe boxes, with gray lids! Target too of course. Perfect for storing little toys, and they're clear so you can see what's inside.

 

 

Perfect color combo, TJ Maxx baby! I love this bin, super cute!

 

 

Target dollar section, I got a bunch of these for Nolan's whimsical first birthday party. Perfect to grab and carry around. He puts little things in there, super cute!
