{Making Christmas} Part 6: Last Minute Homemade Gift

Well, it's that time of year, when we look out the window and see beautiful white streets, and white  roof tops, white trees, and snowflakes galore. I love it when Christmas Eve is filled with so much Christmas cheer and people's homes full of cars, the Christmas trees with presents under the tree, and most of all, all of the nativities in people's homes, and in Temple Square (if you live in Utah you know what I mean). Christmas is a time to reflect, upon the last year, and how time manages to fly past us without us noticing. Our children grow so fast, and we don't even realize it until someone else points it out, my he sure has grown! A time to forgive, and realize our Maker who is greater than us all, forgives men, so who are we to not forgive also.

This Christmas I hope you are all blessed with the Spirit of Christmas, and remember the true meaning of this special day. Our dear Savior was born, and the sheperds ran to tell the people, while the crippled lamb layed next to the baby to keep him warm. The three wise men came to see their King, Oh what a marvelous night that might have been, if only I had been there to witness it. What a humble place he was born in, it really makes me feel very blessed to know our Heavenly Father loves us so much, that he sent his only begotten son, to die for us, but first, to be born and live among us, to teach us, and love us. I am so grateful this Christmas for that wonderful baby, Mary carried in her womb. I hope we all remember that Christmas is not about the Presents, but his Presence.

This brings me to my last minute gifts, just finished making some yummy home made Banana Bread, for the recipe <click here> I love making things and giving them to friends, neighbors, and of course, family!

I love the smell of Banana Bread in the morning.

And presents under the Tree...

I look out the window and what do I see? Popcorn popping on the apple tree...

I love Christmas Cards!

Wow, it has been such a crazy busy week, but somehow I managed to get lots done.

I wish you all very Merry Christmas, I am greateful for you all, my followers, thank you for your support, and for your visits, thank you for insipiring me to keep blogging.

{Making Christmas} Part 5: The Mantel

My goodness, has it been a super busy week? or what? I love my new job, everyday it gets easier, and more enjoyable. I love learning new things, and serving others.

Well, I finally got to photographing our Christmas Mantel this year, it's very simple, but very colorful, I really do love it. I picked up some local shrubs from my backyard, ther's nothing more rewarding than using your own natural resources. The colors match our tree this year, I love this color combo so much. I think I might use it a little too much. That's alright, it never goes out of style.

Oh and I also found a tree topper, just a simple blue bow will do!

For my Mantel, I decided to make it fun, sweet, and delicious! As you may have remembered my Delicious Wreath DIY project, I also went ahead and used left over candy from the wreath, and picked up some sweet candy canes. Along with white and blue ornaments I had. Love it!!!

I haven't put up our stockings yet, 2 reasons, first my toddler will pull them and possibly break things. And two, I didn't get a chance to make our stockings this year, so the ones from last year will have to do, they're not bad, but not the colors I was hoping for.

{Making Christmas!} Part 4: DIY Reinbeer!

Happy Thursday everyone! It has been such a busy week, as many of you may know, I started training for a new job last week, took my first test this week, and passed, yay!!! I am so proud of myself. Still getting used to the working rythm, 5 days a week, from 9 to 5. Crazy, but loving it.

One of my most favorite things during the Christmas season, is making things and giving them as presents, to family, friends, neighbors, etc.  I wanted to quickly show you a little something that I worked on, this is a fun and cool Christmas gift idea. I love the way it turned out, and it was very affordable and super easy to make. Reinbeer!

I first saw this done with a six pack of Beer, but that wasn't very kid friendly, or Me friendly. So went with Root Beer!

cheapo craft supplies!

Ta Da! And you got Reinbeer for the Holidays!

Aren't they super cutes? I love them, almost want to keep them all, but I love giving fun DIY things. Stay tune for more, I got a lot of catching up to do this weekend, can you believe Christmas is in a few days? Whaaa...

{Making Christmas} Part 3: Christmas Cards Display

First of all, I want to take a moment and reflect of the little angels and the brave heroes we lost on  last Friday's tragic morning. I know that our Heavenly Father welcomed them all with open arms, and love. Although the loss of a loved one is unberable, the loss of a little child who's lives were just beggining, can mean the end of the world. For some it is, for me it would be. During these hard times, we must stand together, as humans, no matter our differences, and hope, pray, for them and especially their families, who are going through so much sorrow and suffering. Those little ones, and those amazing dedicated heroes to our children, were done with their mission here on earth, it was time for them to meet with our Maker. My love, and humble prayers go to everyone who lost a loved one.

One of my favorite traditions, and things I look forward to every year, has got to be Christmas cards! I love making, sending, and receiving Christmas cards! It fills me with so much joy, collecting them, and seeing everyone's families. It's so special to me, and not just receiving them, but displaying them throughout the Holiday Season. I love this time of the year!

You may ask, display them? How? Well, this is how I display my Christmas cards, I never actually take pictures of my displays, but since I started blogging I practically document everything on through pictures. And it's wonderful, this is the way my mother and I have displayed our cards for a few years now. It's so easy!

First I get pretty ribbon, and find a great spot to hang. This year it was here!

Than I decorate clothes pins, it's soooo fun! I use permanent markers, and washi tape. Yay! This is one of my favorite parts.

Than it's time to hang to display. I am still waiting for more cards to arrive, and I can't wait!

Yay!! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and may all be Merry and Bright.

{Making Christmas!} Part 2

It's Friday!!! Yay!! I have to be honest, as a stay at home mommy for the past couple of years, I have forgotten the feeling of, it's Friday! I truly had. Now that I have started my job training this week, I have to tell you, it has been tough, getting up super early in the morning, sitting through class, learning new things, but the hardest thing of all, has to be leaving my poor baby. I have been feeling so torn, it has been hard, but you know what? Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven. My training only lasts 6 weeks, after that I will be free to start work from home. How exciting is that? I cannot wait.

There have been some awesome things that have been happening to me though, I have had to opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, socialize like a regular person again, if you know what I mean? haha, a lot of my conversations and socilization has consisted on play dates, learning and teaching how to use first words, goo goo, ga ga. I love it. But it has been really nice getting out there, and having grown up conversations again. I love my new job, and I can't wait to learn everything!

That being said, I want to show you two Christmas trees I have been wanting to post this week, but lack of time. Today, I want to share my little sister's Tree. She is 10 years old, and her little girly tree is super cute!

She is a Hello Kitty Fan, can you tell?

And this is my mom's Christmas tree, it's so fun with the LED lights.

I wanted to let you know that I am still working hard on decorating and preparing for Christmas, it's oh so fun! I have so many projects that I am still working on, and I cannot wait to show you!

Don't worry though,I will post. Stay tune friends, and thank you for your adorable patience! Have a happy Weekend.

xoxo
